Peanut Butter French Toast Sandwiches

If you’re looking for a quick and easy way to jazz up your PB and Jelly sandwiches, try our “French” take on the peanut butter sandwich. Your tastebuds will definitely enjoy the magnificence of warm peanut butter hiding between the golden, eggy toasts. Don’t forget to put your own spin on it and sub out the jam for your favourite peanut butter pairing.

  • 4 slices of toast
  • Manilife Peanut Butter (or your favourite peanut butter)
  • Your Favourite Jam or Jelly
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup of milk
  • Cinnamon
  • Pat of butter or coconut oil

Serves 2

  1. Make two peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with the 4 slices of toast you have. If you want to change it up, feel free to experiment with spreads other than jelly, like strawberry slices, banana slices, honey, you name it!
  2. Heat up your pan on medium heat and melt your choice of butter or coconut oil.
  3. In the meantime, crack your egg into a shallow bowl and beat it will the milk and cinnamon until it is slightly frothy.
  4. Dip your sandwiches into the egg mixture, making sure that both sides have soaked up the liquid, and lay them onto the pan.
  5. Flip after approximately 4 minutes or when the bottom is a lovely golden brown. Be careful not to burn the second side, it usually takes less time to cook.
  6. Slip the toasts onto a plate to serve and garnish with whatever suits your fancy. Maple syrup, fresh fruit – all sound good to us!
  7. Voila – a warm, delicious, healthy breakfast!
